What did they need?
In the “vacuum wars,” innovation is everything. If you don’t have new story to tell, you’re dust. Shark had a new line of vacuums, both robot and upright, that had amazing technical advantages. We needed to convey that in a visually simple but arresting way.
What did we do?
We created a series of compelling visual mnemonics that would be unforgettable, even if you saw these commercials with the sound off. For the robot vacuum, we designed an animated clean path that told the whole story in just a few seconds. For the uprights, it was the “designer dirt,” or giant piles of debris that looked fun and way too large for a vacuum to defeat in just one pass.
What happened
Sales, sales and more sales. In fact, our spots drove their Amazon sales by over 200%, not to mention beating expectations and orders at retail locations.
